Adobe® Photoshop Elements: Advanced

Prerequisites:

The student should have attended the Adobe Photoshop Elements: Basics seminar. They should also have intermediate computer skills using a Windows PC; have an understanding of most photo terms, and the use of various file formats. This is not a photography seminar, but rather what to do with photos once you have them.

Description:

The student will learn advanced techniques on how to edit, enhance, creatively combine, organize and create various output products with photos using the powerful Adobe®Photoshop®Elements program. Handouts will be available for use at home.
Note: Photoshop® Elements Version 9.0 is used in the classroom

Goals: (May vary based on students' questions and requests)

  • Move beyond the basics and learn advanced techniques of photo editing.
  • Learn the use of all tools and to modify the tool’s parameters in the option bar for special effects.
  • Learn more sophisticated techniques of editing photos using the Full, Quick and Guided Modes.
  • How to use the power of layers in Photoshop® Elements
    • Blending Modes
    • Layer Masks
    • Clipping Masks
    • Adjustment Layers
    • Opacity
  • Learn to use, download and add new plug-ins and filters for special effects
  • Learn the several methods of doing Photomerges; i.e. Faces, Groups and Panoramas, etc.
  • Introduction all features of the Photo Organizer that is included in Photoshop Elements.
