Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of Windows, the keyboard and mouse and basic typing skills.

Description:

This is a Level I and II class in Microsoft® Office PowerPoint. The first part is designed for the student to learn the basics of creating, editing and using a PowerPoint presentation. The second part is designed for the student to learn advanced features of creating, editing and using a PowerPoint presentation. This seminar is a combination of lecture and student hands-on PC training.

This is NOT a beginner's class on the basics of the computer.

Goals:

Day One

  • Create presentations using Design Templates
  • Create, edit and use your own Design Templates
  • Format fonts, colors, and background graphics of slides
  • Add basic custom animation effects
  • Insert clip art, photos, word art, graphics, charts and more
  • Understand various methods of presenting slide shows
  • Set Options for PowerPoint
  • Use "Help"
  • Add Notes
  • Print slides and handouts

Day Two

  • Understand effective use of color, typestyle, graphics, animations, etc.
  • Establish storyline and consistency for slides to communicate your ideas
  • Practice various methods of presenting or delivering presentations
    • Presented by a speaker
    • Browsed by an individual
    • Browsed by a kiosk
    • Presented over the Internet
    • Presented through e-mail
    • Burned to a disc (Pack and Go)
  • Insert hyperlinks to the Internet
  • Insert voice-recorded clips and presentation narrative
