Computer Scrapbooking (2½ hours)

Prerequisites:

Introductory skills, knowledge of the keyboard and mouse, typing skills, being familiar with a basic photo editing program, click and drag, some file and folder terminology.

Need to Bring to Class:

  • 2 blank CD-R disks for burning the final pages
  • 20 to 30 pictures either on a disk or actual prints for the pages
  • Additional objects to scan, lockets, birth certificates, buttons, etc.
  • Novelty papers will be supplied by the instructor

Description:

This is a beginner/ intermediate class in creating a computer scrapbook using a publishing program and a photo enhancement program. Several pages will be made to be viewed online or in print.

This is NOT a beginner’s class in the basics of the computer.
Must bring two CD-Rom disks to class or pay an extra 50 cents.

Goal:

  • Learn the basics of scanning photos, negatives or slides
  • Learn the built-in options or create your own templates for highlighting your photos
  • Learn to combine clip art and photos to make a collage or montage
  • Photo enhancements
  • Adding props to your photos
  • Cut out portions of one photo to use on another
  • Burn a CD with your photo pages to be viewed on TV or on your computer
  • Consider the various options of printing off sized papers
