Microsoft® Office Word (Two 2-hour seminars)

Wednesdays, April 11 and 18, 2012, from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Two 2-hour sessions

Prerequisites:

Basic knowledge of Windows, the keyboard and mouse and basic typing skills.

Description:

This seminar covers Levels I and II for Microsoft® Office Word. The first day of the seminar is designed to teach the student the various ways to format a Word document with graphics, photos, color, borders and a variety of text styles and sizes. The second day of the seminar is designed to help the student go beyond basic plain typing, and use some of the power, features, and functions of Word.


This seminar is a combination of lecture and student hands-on PC training.

This is NOT a beginner's class on the basics of the computer.

Goals:

Day One

  • Show how to go beyond plain text typing
  • Use photos, graphics and clip art in a document
  • Add headers and footers
  • Use watermarks
  • Add bullet or number lists
  • Indent and align
  • Auto format and auto correct
  • Other document formatting techniques

Day Two

  • Show how to go beyond plain text typing
  • Create, edit and use Tables, Templates, Macros, Format styles
  • Mail merge with labels, envelopes and letters
  • Students' special request for "How to whatever?"
