PDF Files - What are They?
Prerequisites:
This is a class for advanced beginners. You need to know how to make and save a Word document. This is mostly lecture with some hands-on.

Description:
Have you wondered what exactly are .pdf files, how are they generated, can I edit them, why would I want to create them, or what program can I use to make them? This lecture will compare several different software that accomplish this, with pros and cons.
Goals:
To understand how to make my own .pdf files and why.
- Learn the nuisances of saving files, editing the text, copying and posting
- Understand the mechanics of why they are considered a printing process and not a word processing process

- make a file in Word, Excel, Publishing
- open a .pdf from the web
- talk about interactive .pdf where you fill it in online
