Fun with Social Media (one 2 hour session)

You must have basic computer skills including knowledge of Windows, the Internet, specifically Internet Explorer or Mozilla browsers, the keyboard, mouse usage, some typing skills and a strong sense of adventure.

Description:

Why let your grandkids have all the fun? Social media are powerful tools to connect or reconnect with friends, family and colleagues, share information and express oneself.


This introductory course will review major social media networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter so you may confidently utilize this revolutionary medium.


If time permits, we will also discuss Google Plus, Wikis and blogging.

This is NOT a beginner's class on the basics of the computer.

Goals:

The student will:

  • Understand the dynamics, demographics and dangers related to social networking.
  • Know the function, primary features and power of each social networking service and usefulness in your life.
